Understanding Holi

Playing colors in Holi is a relaxation mechanism for the majority of Hindus. It is a break from the routine and acedias of Hinduism. In fact it is true for all Hindu festivals. Not too many can understand and comprehend Gita but all in the North of India can play Holi—the aesthetic play of Krishna with Radha and gopis. The festivals are a kind of equalizer even though Hindu festivals are most enjoyed by riches and powerful.Hinduism is open to adaptability with time and therefore Hindu festivals, particularly the Northern Indian ones, can beautify with time. Hinduism has to evolve with the rest of religions and ideology. But it may require institutionalization too—a protection from conversion, diffusiveness and unnecessary imports. For that, many things need to be homogenized, keeping the edge and dynamism intact.amits123, Lucknow, India   See More

Rameshvaram

Rameshvaram  Many people in India interpret the word in two different ways: first, it means who is the Ishvar of Rama and second, whose Ishvar Rama is. These are approximate translation and need to be made exact.Rameshvaram implies Rama+Ishvaram the ‘+’ sign here refers to a colon implying Rama: Ishvaram. This implies that Rama is Ishvara. Rama worships Shivalingum in the deep South to seek blessings from Shiva to be victorious against Ravana. According to stories, in Shiva’s marriage with Parvati, the ‘arti’ devoted to Rama was sung. Therefore, there is a balance between Shiva and Rama. As has been discussed earlier that Shivalingum implies Satyam Shivam Sundaram. This is another form of Ishvar implying Shiva and Kali are the absolute truth and Shiva and Parvati are the absolute beauty. But Rama and Shivalingum are facing each other; the mirror image. What it implies isRama: Ishvara: Satyam Shivam Sundaram.     amits123, Lucknow, India  On his own wall on 3 March, 2012 at around 8:53…See More

The turmoil in the Arab world

The upheaval in the Middle East and the North Africa is continuing with dust over the future of Arabia not settling yet. Even after more than one year of protests and revolutions the Arabs are a confused lot. Even though Mubarak and Qaddafi have been ousted people do not know what lies in future for them and they are also confused about how they should evolve. While it is true that the Jasmine Revolution, wherever it took place, the majority supported it but still there is a significant population in all nations affected by revolution which thinks otherwise: what is obvious, urgent and demanding to many may be nauseating to others. The people ousted the despots and dictators but what is next? There can not be any denying the fact that Islam is the only path and answers to many of the queries for Arabs and they should envision their societies based on Koran and Sharia.People should be adaptive with the time and should change their demands and requirements with time. It is truer for…See More

Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 1, hymns 42, 43)

Arjuna to Krishna: “This disorder carries down to hell the family and the destroyers of the family. The spirits of their dead suffer in pain when deprived of the ritual offerings. Those evil deeds of the destroyers of a family, which cause this social disorder, destroy the righteousness of birth and the ancestral rituals of righteousness.”Here Arjuna continues to fear the negative effect of killing his kin in war. Krishna is the biggest preacher of Sanatana dharma and the dharma believes in the continuity since eternity. The aim of Krishna is of course to preach a new morality based on the old principles of the dharma as written in Puranas and Vedas; the preaching on which modern Hindus would be so proud of. But Krishna understands differences, distinctions and distributions best and therefore he understands the caste very well. Krishna being dark and non-Brahmin in portrayal can easily preach Brahminical values and spirituality which a majority can follow. Gita is institutionalization…See More

Understanding Shiva

All idols are ascetic in nature and Hinduism may not preach economic capitalism but it can preach caste-based Hindu-capitalism. It needs to be stated that Shiva is not communists even though he is shown to be pleasing towards devils-the asuras. It was the compulsion of Hindu priests to take into account the otherwise unmanageable disparities, asymmetries and distributions of the people of the subcontinent that they depicted Shiva in a socialist-communist way. A real capitalist Ishvar could have destroyed the amalgam of Hinduism. But Shiva is white in color, of course, he is no Caucasian. But color has a lot of meaning: it appeals to upper caste values and systems. Hindu priests wrote about a universal Hindu Ishvar; a national Ishvar, whom all can worship but who would uphold the upper caste values predominantly.Kali trampling on recumbent Shiva is an attempt by Brahmins to contain their inflated egos and diffusive consciousness. It puts a lot of glue among the various identities. It…See More

The word Hindu

It is said that the word Hindu is derived from word Sindhu. There is no law of language that Sindhu transforms in to Hindu in Devanagri script as ‘S’ is the key word. But if one writes Sindhu in Roman script, deletes S and rearrange the rest ‘indhu’ it becomes Hindu.Deleting ‘S’ may be some kind of atheism as ‘S’ stands for Shiva in Roman script but it is not full atheism as in the word ‘Sindhu’ it is ‘Sa’ and not ‘Sh’. But anyway it tells the constraints of evolution of Hinduism as imports, particularly Anglican ones, are the basis of modern Indian society’s growth. India can not grow or progress without English.English is as much mandatory as Hindi is as without either of them India can not be imagined. But Anglicization and Westernization beyond a point may be harmful as Indians may loose all the required inertia. The affinity to culture is mandatory to continue a meaningful and purposeful life.Similarly, Hindi is derived from the world Hindu by replacing ‘u’ by ‘i’. The…See More

Political derivatives

Political derivatives are instruments which are derivatives of sovereign powers like treasury capital, securities, technology, labor and trade etc. They are useful in conflict resolutions to compensate for the differences. Political derivatives can also be used as investment tool, making newer world order based on newer copyright laws, as a tool to change the world by bringing alternate fuel, in resolving the African conflicts based on tribal and food reasons. They can also be used to pursue non-proliferation agenda and also in institutionalizing the politics be it Indian or American. The biggest beauty with political derivatives is that they help quantifying the problems and quantifying the solutions. A new functionalities-based regime can be proposed using political derivatives. And if nothing works in expanding the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) then these instruments can be used to share the votes and evolve wider consensus on new international politics.amits123, Lucknow,…See More

Interactions and conservation laws

Posted on February 23, 2012 at 2:54pm 0 Comments

Interactions imply instability in very small space-time whereas conservation laws apply to large space-time and lead to stability. Both electromagnetic interaction and gravitation have infinite range in hypothetical situations as the intermediating particles photons and graviton are mass-less. The weak and strong interactions are small range forces because the intermediating particles W and Z-bosons are heavy. There is fifth force; a variant of gravitation known as scalar-vector-tensor (SVT)…
