Four persons, including a senior citizen, were today arrested for allegedly raping a minor repeatedly for over two years in suburban Sakinaka and video recording the act in their mobiles, police said today.

The victim's cousin brother was also involved in the crime, police said adding five more, including the cousin and his friends, were still absconding.

The arrested accused were identified as Premchand Pandit (35), Jamunaprasad Sharma (71), Jitendra Yadav (25), Vinod Yadav (27) and were remanded to police custody till Friday, they said.

According to police, the 12-year-old girl, who hails from Bhuj in Gujarat, was staying with her aunt in Subhashnagar area.

The victim's aunt runs a mess where some of the accused used to come daily to have food, said S R Dhanedhar, Senior Inspector of Sakinaka Police Station.

Taking advantage of the girl's loneliness, her cousin brother Dhawal repeatedly raped her for over two years at his residence, threatening her of dire consequences if she revealed anything to anyone, said Dhanedhar.

Later, Dhawal told about it to his friends and others, who also took her to various lodges and raped her on several occasions, he said.

The victim told about the incident to her uncle recently who then sent her to Bhuj, he said adding that when her family members came to know about it, they complained at a local police there.

Subsequently, Bhuj police arrived in Mumbai and a formal FIR was lodged in Sakinaka police station as the crime was reported here, police said.

Subsequently, the accused were arrested and further probe was on.

"The victim alleged that she was also video recorded on mobiles while being sexually abused by the accused. We are verifying this," Dhanedhar added.
